Artist Statement
I create stylized figurative paintings inspired by my life experiences, culture, environment, and imagination. Growing up away from my family, I often felt a sense of disconnection. However, through my art, I've found a way to weave myself together in overcoming these feelings of isolation. This personal journey informs my artistic approach, as I explore themes of unity, togetherness, and collective narrative.
I'm Influenced by the traditional basket weaving, In which i apply the woven-like technique to my paintings. This approach allows me to tell stories, share my views, and reflect on the human experience. My art is a celebration of resilience, hope, and self-love, inviting people to contemplate their own place within the larger narrative.
Working with acrylic, oil, and mixed media on textured canvas or paper, I aim to create a sense of freedom through distortion, and elongated figures which characterize my style. Through my paintings, I hope to inspire unity, hope, promote culture, spark reflection, and foster a deeper connection with the world around us.
